Quota International of Sand Springs, OK
“The world’s a better place because Ellie Costola is in it,” say Sand Springs Quotarians. Ellie joined their club running in 2002, and she hasn’t slowed down since. In the relatively short time she has been a member, she has served as a board member, first vice president, co-chair of the Publicity/ Scrapbook Committee and is in her second term as club president.
She is the only member named by her club “Quotarian of the Year” and “Quota International Volunteer of the Year” concurrently. A cheerleader for Quota, Ellie took Quota’s message “to the street” volunteering for the Salvation Army’s annual bell-ringing campaign, the Tulsa Speech and Hearing Association’s Souper Sunday, the Sand Springs Herbal Affair, the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, and hearing screenings at local elementary schools. She is also secretary for the Sand Springs Friends of the Library, and a member of Sand Springs Women’s Chamber of Commerce.
Ellie has always plunged wholeheartedly, energetically, and capably into volunteer service. In the past she has volunteered for Tulsa’s Mayfest and Octoberfest. Women’s lives were changed for the better through the self-esteem workshops Ellie led for the YWCA’s Women’s Resource Center at the University of Tulsa and the South Tulsa Psychiatric Association. She has also shared her magnetic personality with elementary school children, teaching safety with “Louie the Lightening Bug” seminars. The years she served on the board of directors for Unity Church of Christianity is a volunteer experience she holds especially dear. The lives of people of all ages have been touched and improved by this dynamic woman.
Generous with her time and talents, Ellie says she is proud of the opportunity given her by Quota to make a difference in her community. Quota International of Sand Springs is supremely proud to have Ellie Costola as a member and leader. Our community will profit from Ellie’s service for years to come.
