Nancy Birosik

Quota International of Northampton, PA

Nancy Birosik is a tireless volunteer for Quota, for her church, and for the community as a whole. This year Nancy chaired our Program, Music, Decorations, Thought for the Day, and District 2 conference committees. For many years she has organized our bus trips to Broadway plays helping us to raise over $1,000 a year.

What makes Nancy outstanding within our club is her participation in almost every event. She assisted with our yard-sale, our Christmas Gift project, our Easter Basket project, and she delivered and packed food for the to the food bank. She always goes above and beyond expectations. Not only did she shop for Christmas gifts for children, but also she helped wrap them.

Nancy’s recently injured sister, whom she was assisting, came along to share in our fellowship. When Nancy’s daughter told her of a disadvantaged child, she immediately contacted me and we were able to buy for that child as well. Nancy also did a super job with our conference logging many hours on preparation.

Through her church she acts as a server at funeral masses, ministers communion to the sick in their homes, and drives patients dealing with cancer to the hospital. She has even volunteered to baby-sit for a widowed young mother of four.

Within our community, she volunteers at Gracedale Nursing Home every Friday. For many years she drove an elderly woman to the hairdresser each week. As one member of our club stated, “She is there for anything, she can do for anybody.”

Nancy, a retired nurse, resides in Northampton with her husband William. She and Willy enjoy going to all of her grandchildren’s athletic functions. Nancy is a long time member of Quota International of Northampton and served as president in 1981 and 1982. She has also served as governor of District 2.
