Martha Cedotal

Quota International of Baton Rouge, LA

When Martha Cedotal joined Quota in 1999, she made a commitment to be an active member and has truly been faithful to her word. She brings to the club a certain spark of energy that is very contagious. Martha’s dedication to Quota is clearly apparent as she regularly attends meetings, has held various leadership positions, and participates in many Quota programs.

Over the years, Martha has planned and implemented six new member program meetings. Some of Martha’s favorite programs include Mardi Gras Membership Madness, A Louisiana Quota Fest, and A Quota Premiere. A Quota Premiere—which featured a movie theme, popcorn, photo shoot, and “May West” movie star—received an Excellence Award from Quota International. Martha feels that bringing in new members, making them feel as though they belong, and getting them connected to club activities lends itself to a stronger membership and one that enhances our service mission. Martha has also had active roles in service. She has even won the Star Award for Service at our District 21 conference.

Martha is the assistant dean for the College of Basic Sciences at Louisiana State University. Since joining Quota in 1999, she has served on the board in various positions including corresponding secretary and recording secretary. Martha has also served as chair of the following committees: New Membership, Overall Service, Disadvantaged Women and Children, and Growth and Development. In addition, Martha has served on the Service Restructuring Committee and is a member of the Service Research and Development Committee.

Martha is most proud of never losing site of what our Quota mission is all about: to give service to others. Without a doubt, the club projects Martha has enjoyed the most have all been service related. Martha’s wonderful contributions, active membership, exuberant personality, and dedication to Quota make her an outstanding choice for the 2005 Volunteer of the Year.
