Quota International of Springfield, MA

Quota International of Springfield, Massachusetts, proudly presents Barbara Kapinos as Volunteer of the Year 2005. She has been an active member of this club since 1988. Although Barbara works in the banking field she has always found time to help with many club projects. Springfield holds the “Worlds Largest Pancake Breakfast” each year. She has been our liaison between business leaders and the Spirit of Springfield for 17 years. Whether it’s food for the Survival Center, a fashion show, or the Harvest Supper, Barbara has been there when needed. As banking is her forte, we have called upon her expertise to reconcile our books each year. She truly fulfills the phrase “ask a busy woman.”

The best is what she gives our club in everything she does. Grace, understanding, and patience are her leading attributes.

In addition to Barbara’s involvement with Quota, her biography reflects the many charitable organizations that she has “worked” for as a member of the board of directors and/or chair of the fund-raising committee. Some of her service highlights include: YWCA of Springfield Board of Directors; Financial Women International, Treasurer; Brightside for Families and Children, Chairman Christmas Angel Campaign; committee chairman for Brightside Golf Tournament; Association of Fundraising Professionals, 2004 recipient of the “Partners in Philanthropy” Award; American Institute of Banking, Springfield Chapter, Treasurer; Springfield School Volunteers, “Kids Voting” volunteer; St. Patrick’s Ladies Guild, treasurer; Christmas in April, Volunteer; and United Way volunteer and committee member, Corporate Fund Raising, to name just a few.

She has also given of her time for several national charities. We feel she is definitely deserving of this award.
