Quota International of Woonsocket, RI

Stephanie Angelini, a speech and language pathologist, is a valued member of Quota International of Woonsocket. She is a past recipient of a club scholarship who went on to earn her master’s degree in speech pathology from the College of St. Rose in Albany, New York. Thanks to Stephanie, Quota International of Woonsocket has hosted monthly read-aloud stories for the hearing impaired at the local YWCA. Popular children’s stories are presented in spoken and signed language simultaneously. Children in attendance create a craft related to the theme of the story and enjoy a snack after the reading. The club celebrated “International Noise Awareness Day” on April 30 with free hearing screenings, educational materials, displays, and videos at the local library. Displays included assistive listening devices plus information on deaf history and culture. Visiting Nurses of Greater Rhode Island offered free blood pressure checks, while Stephanie administered over 50 free hearing screenings using a portable audiometer during the five hour event. Members of the Woonsocket club feel very fortunate to have Stephanie as a dedicated member who promotes good hearing.
