Patricia Saltsman

Quota International of Salem, OH

Patricia (Pat) Saltsman joined Quota in 1972 and has generously served on most committees and in most offices, including that of president. She served as chairman of the 6th District Conference when the Salem club was host, and she has served on many district committees. She is presently coordinator of the Salem Area Speech and Hearing Clinic, providing affordable speech lessons to area children and adults. She schedules appointments, takes applications, handles the finances, and generally oversees the needs of the therapists, clinic, receptionist, and clients. She also initiated contact with Mountaineer Racetrack and Casino to donate a weekend package as a fund-raiser for Quota International of Salem. This resulted in two different successful raffles. In addition, Pat completed the necessary grant application from Walmart for $1,000. Married for 46 years to her high school sweetheart, Pat and her husband were blessed with three daughters and seven grandchildren. Pat donated a kidney to her middle daughter in 1992. Pat is very active in her church as a Sunday school teacher, a church council member, and she has been a chair of the Mother/Daughter Banquet for many years. She also helps with cooking, serves as a reader and greeter on Sunday, and serves on the pastoral selection committee. Pat helped raise money for new high school band uniforms and hosted the end of band camp in her home, along with many other activities when her daughters were in school. Quota International of Salem believes that Pat exemplifies the volunteer of the year—she never says no and is always there to help.
