Marakay Rogers

Quota International of York, PA

Incoming secretary Marakay Rogers is a very busy person! She has been a member of Quota for three years and has been active on the Service to Women and Youth Committee since she joined. Setting up an on-line message board for members of our club who have computer access is her next project. In addition to her busy career as an attorney and member of the York County Bar Association, she was a volunteer counsel for York People for Peace and Justice in 2002 and represented four women at no charge for Protection From Abuse (PFA) injunctions. In 2003, she is participating in two free workshops for custody parents. She is a volunteer on the Women and the Law committee and on the Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers committee. Marakay is also a volunteer attorney for Pennsylvania Immigration Resource Center. In 2002, she was a legal observer for public events, and she has been a member of the National Lawyers Guild for the past two years. Marakay also finds time to be on the board of directors for the Wilson College Alumnae Association, class agent for Wilson College Class of 1981, and a member of York People for Peace and Justice. A member of the Green Party of York County, she is a candidate for district justice in York City. She is also a member of Orpheus Lodge, Le Droit Humain, an international order of Co-Freemasonry. In the fall, she will receive a pro bono award from the York County Bar Association and Mid-Penn Legal Services at the York County Bar Association dinner. Her fellow Quotarians are proud of her and know she will succeed in every endeavor!
