2002 Volunteers of the Year

Marlene Harner

Quota International of Bossier City, LA

Marlene Harner, president of Quota International of Bossier City, doesn’t do anything in a small way. In her 5 years as a Quotarian, Marlene has served as secretary, second vice president and president (two years running) and has also chaired and co-chaired the Tour of Homes. But her volunteer service goes beyond Quota. She serves her community as a Board member for the Bossier Arts Council, a CASA volunteer, a board member for the volunteers of Youth Justice, a diplomat with the Bossier City Chamber of Commerce, and she has recently been appointed to the Bossier City Women’s Commission. Marlene does all of the above, yet still finds quality time to spend with her family (including ten grandchildren!). While not volunteering or serving her community, you can find Marlene playing the organ for her church choir or traveling in a motor home with her husband.
