Madeline Schertz

Quota International of Ottumwa, IA

Madeline Schertz has a long history of giving to others—through her job as a public health nurse and then as an Aging Right Coordinator at the community hospital. A breast cancer survivor, Madeline serves as a mentor to others facing this disease and donates countless hours to the cause, as well as serving on committees for the Southeast Iowa “Race for the Cure.” She has served on the Wapello County Hospice Board, Wapello County Board of Health, the Housing Authority Board, and various boards and committees with her church. A member of Quota for the past 35 years, she has nurtured many new members with her kind motivation and the sharing of her experiences along with her common sense. This same common sense, coupled with her sense of humor, have kept many meetings “on track,” assuring that everyone left with a “light heart.” When serving on a board or joining an organization, Madeline does not just lend her name, she gives her heart and soul.
