2002 Volunteers of the Year

Joan Middleton, Quota International of Cessnock, NSW

Joan Middleton

Quota International of Cessnock, NSW

Joan Middleton has been a member of Quota International for 44 years and transferred into Quota of Cessnock 16 years ago. She is a dedicated member and has held all executive positions at the club and district level. She is described as a most enthusiastic worker for each and every project in which she participates and readily offers her time, and home, for meetings, functions, or projects. But it is for her work with Nazareth Village and Quota in the South Pacific that Joan’s volunteer service truly shines. For the past seven years, Joan has been a volunteer at Nazareth Village. Her service includes calling the numbers for bingo, entertaining the residents with her skills on the piano, and taking the mainly “shut-in” residents on outings. She is an invaluable asset to this organization. Joan is also known as a talented parliamentarian, having served as the parliamentarian for Quota clubs and districts in the South Pacific area, and she has conducted seminars to educate others on parliamentarian procedures. Joan is truly a volunteer in action.
