Gertrude Purdue

Quota International of East Memphis, TN

At ninety-three years of age, instead of retiring, Gertrude Purdue continues to be a very active volunteer on many fronts. Gertrude, a member of the Quota club for 40 years, has held many offices and served wholeheartedly in supportive roles as a dutiful committee member. Gertrude’s volunteer spirit spreads deep into her community. For more than 40 years, she has been a vital part of the volunteer program at the Veterans Administration Hospital. As a member of Church Women United, Gertrude continues to contribute her experience, knowledge, and talent to local, state, regional, and national branches. She has served on the board of directors of the U.S.O., the Y.W.C.A., and the Salvation Army Auxiliary. Gertrude also dedicates her talent and leadership to her church by playing the piano, bringing programs to senior citizens, and developing educational opportunities for the women’s circle.
