Since joining Essendon in 1976, Verna Johnstone has had a perfect attendance record. Her dedication and loyalty are unparalleled. She is a good friend to club members and a tireless worker in times of need, illness, and bereavement. Verna has held the positions of president, vice president, secretary, treasurer and board member for Essendon, as well as secretary/treasurer and lieutenant governor for District 38. In addition to Quota, Verna has been a volunteer with the local Emergency Relief organization for sixteen years, at times serving as chairperson. Since 1982 she has served the Australian Red Cross in numerous positions and activities. To top it all off, Verna is a devoted daughter, mother, and grandmother, and director of a small family business. Verna truly gives all for the benefit of those around her.
