Quota International of York, PA

Ruth Wiest has had a distinguished 34-year membership in Quota, and the future is just as promising. Having served as club president, vice-president, treasurer, and chairman of the community service committee, Ruth has put many volunteer hours under her belt. Most amazing is her continued effort with Quota and numerous other organizations to help her community in every way possible. As a 31-year member of the Salvation Army auxiliary, she has recently become auxiliary president. In addition she has spent 20 years on the advisory board there. For her work, Ruth became the first recipient of the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary “Award of Excellence.” Other service includes nearly 25 years with the March of Dimes, 20 years with the York County American heart Association, 40 years of service to the York County Cancer Society, and 18 years with the Zion United Church of Christ, including taking the role of treasurer. Ruth lives by her motto: “You must take time to help others, not wait till you have time to help.”
