M. Isabelle Butters

Quota International of Weyburn, SK

For over forty-seven years, Isabelle Butters has been serving her community through Quota. A charter member of Weyburn, Isabelle has also held the positions of club president, District 11 Governor, vice-president of the Canada area, Canada Area Director, and most recently the District 11 Secretary/Treasurer. However, Isabelle’s list of service doesn’t stop there. For 46 years she worked at the Weyburn Co-op, the final 13 years as the General Manager. Isabelle has been an active, valued member of over 15 community boards and committees since the 1960s, nine of them throughout the past decade. She also remains active in the Grace United Church and the Saskatchewan Libraries, giving freely of her time and talent. In 1998 the YWCA awarded Isabelle the Lifetime Achievement Award as a “Woman of Distinction.” Quota has recognized her good work too, and for the past four years, Isabelle has received the Wanda Frey Joiner Founder Award. Isabelle is always there when others need a trusted advisor, a shoulder to lean on, or just a friend to talk to.
