A true volunteer, Esther Stacie makes every moment worth something. A Quotarian since 1997, Esther is always out helping someone. Once a week Esther volunteers at the Children’s Therapy Center, helping in whatever manner is necessary—cleaning up, washing dishes, or assisting the teachers. She also mows her church lawn and makes lap robes and quilts for nursing home residents. Twice a year she helps spruce up the local park, and she is constantly visiting the veterans home. If ever a kind soul is needed, Esther is present to comfort someone after surgery, heart attacks, or during any illness. Esther’s piano skills are widely known, playing for various community functions throughout the year, donating any profit to charity. Known for her volunteerism, in 1997 President Clinton sent Esther a commendation for her generosity and service to her community. At 87 years young, Esther is a hard act even to follow, nonetheless keep up with.
