Betty Krone

Quota International of East Memphis, TN

Forty-two years ago Betty Krone took on a substitute teaching job for a hard-of-hearing class. The teacher never returned and Betty has been teaching hearing-impaired students ever since. Currently she teaches as an elementary school resource teacher, working with the hearing-impaired students. Betty spread her teaching wings to a Sunday school class for deaf children. In 1975, Betty helped charter the Interpreting Service for the Deaf, and then in 1976, she became a charter member of the Mid-South Council for the Hearing-Impaired. In 1985, Betty joined Quota and has been a valued member since. Serving as club president and then elected governor of District 23 in 1993, Betty has had to rearrange her schedule, but says it is well worth it. Always lending two helping hands, or using them to teach, Betty is a committed, talented, and hard-working Quotarian. Betty always says, “Anytime the Quota doors open, I’m there!”
