Thelma Alcorn

Quota International of York, PA

Although she is approaching her 83rd birthday, Thelma Alcorn is still a very active part of Quota International of York, where she has been a member for 28 years. Aside from serving in various offices, she maintains the club scrapbook and hosts the annual summer picnic. She is very interested in the hearing impaired and has chaired that committee for many years. She recently spent more than three hours straight cutting the hair of troubled girls at a makeover sponsored by the York Quota club. Aside from her Quota activities, Thelma volunteers at the Apple Hill Out Patient Hospital, where she has served for 10 years. A retired beautician, she gives perms, haircuts, and manicures to residents in retirement homes as well. The York Symphony also receives her volunteer participation. Thelma is a real asset to her Quota Club and her community. She just hopes that when, in the future, she needs help, there will be someone there for her. Her many friends will surely wish to repay her years of service to others by returning her generous giving. The members of Quota International of York are proud to acknowledge Thelma’s service to the community with this award.
