Susan Mullins

Quota International of West Memphis, AR

Susan Daniel Mullins joined Quota International of West Memphis in 2002. Since that time, she has been an inspiration to many of the club’s members. Susan chairs the Service to the Elderly Committee and is newly elected to the board of directors. She hosts many Quota dinners and is always ready to help out at the drop of a hat. Susan is also active in many other organizations in the community, including the West Memphis Chamber of Commerce, the West Memphis Main Street Association, and the West Memphis Visitors and Convention Bureau. She lives at and manages the Ingram Court Senior Apartments along with her husband Carroll Wayne Mullins. They plan activities and, more importantly, they love the residents in this elderly, mixed-race community. It takes people with compassion, patience, and understanding to deal daily with the illness and sometimes death that accompanies working with the elderly. Both Susan and her husband have these attributes. Susan has been the recipient of the National Church Residences Core Value Award for Compassion and the Patty Gonzales Diplomat of the Year (given by the West Memphis Chamber of Commerce). Susan and Wayne married October 15, 1975, and renewed their vows of 25 years in 2000. They have two children and two grandchildren, and since they feel no family is complete without dogs, they have three. When asked about hobbies, Susan said she likes painting, golfing, entertaining, cooking, and making friends. The last is certainly true, because she has many in Quota. Her Quota friends honor her with this Volunteer of the Year Award.
