Quota International of Fairmont, WV

Melva Hess has been a member of the Fairmont club since 1968. She is a retired professor from Fairmont State College, and she continues to serve Quota and the community. Melva Hess is a very dedicated Quotarian! She is a past president and has served on the board in many capacities. Melva is an active member on any assigned committee and volunteers for many service projects. She has attended international conventions in Australia, Canada, and the United States. Melva personally presented a contribution to the New Delhi club of India from the Fairmont club, and she was a guest at one of their meetings. Melva is also a past president of volunteers for Fairmont General Hospital, where she has contributed 5,000 service hours. She is active in her church, assists with organizing activities at Marion County Senior Citizens Center, and volunteers with the Cancer Society. Melva has served on the board of the American Association of University Women and has worked within Phi Upsilon Omicron and Delta Kappa Gamma on projects benefiting community shelters, libraries, and hospitals. Through her affiliation with SCORE (Small Business Administration of Retired Persons), Melva helped foster new small businesses in the community. It is with great pleasure that Quota International of Fairmont recognizes Melva Hess as the Volunteer of the Year from our club.
