Eleanor Ray is a leader in Quota International of Greensboro. She is respected in the club and her community for her caring nature and friendliness. A member since 1982, she has been secretary, treasurer, vice president, and president. She has chaired and worked on the Ways and Means and Membership committees and has acted as a coordinator of pecan sales, the club’s main fund-raiser. Eleanor was secretary-treasurer of District 19 from October 2001 to Apri1 2004. She has attended international conventions in Nashville, Orlando, Calgary, New Orleans, and Pittsburgh, and has attended all but two district conferences since joining Quota. Eleanor was corporate secretary of her family’s business, Ray Moving and Storage and was also office manager from 1962-2002. She has been the corporate secretary of Ray Investment Properties since 2002 and works part-time in a consulting capacity. Eleanor has a master’s degree in special education and was previously a special education teacher. She is president of the Sunday school at her church and has served on various committees. Eleanor and husband Don have participated in the Host Family program, giving students a family while they are away from home. They have hosted four international exchange students: three from Columbia, South America, and one from Belgium. Eleanor is a member of the Harriett Elliott Society at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. Her other activities include donating blood, delivering Mobile Meals, and volunteering in the church nursery and Healing Touch Clinic. Eleanor is also a wife, mother, and grandmother. A multi-talented person, Eleanor Ray is always upbeat and has enriched the lives of others with her service to the community.
