Diane Bellemare

Quota International of Minneapolis, MN

When Diane Bellemare joined Quota International of Minneapolis in 1998, club members considered it their wonderful good fortune. Diane was selected as Volunteer of the Year because of her dedication to Quota. She has taken on various Quota leadership roles and has made significant volunteer contributions to fund-raising and service. Whenever she accepts a role of leadership or as a team member, she responsibly and creatively follows through. She served terms as first-year and second-year director on the board, was elected secretary in 2003-2004, and re-elected secretary for 2004-2005. She chaired the Attendance/Reservations Committee this year and also is a member of the Ways and Means Committee. Diane has formidable skills in soliciting in-kind donations from businesses and has, for the past three years, hosted door prize wrapping parties and arranged the Silent Auction tables for the annual Luncheon and Style Show. Diane is a member of the Service Committee and has served on the Activities/Program Committee. She is an advocate for charities and has arranged speakers from beneficiary organizations, including the Uptown Community Clinic. Diane organized and personally presented excellent programs on topics relating to the health initiatives launched by the presidents of Quota International. For example, she gave a presentation on skin cancer and taught us about diabetes by using a very clever interactive version of Jeopardy. Diane has donated her beautiful hand-made jewelry for fund-raising and gifts to district governors. She has opened her home for board and committee meetings. She rolled up her sleeves and dived into book sorting at the Cops-N-Kids/Firefighters-N-Kids Book Distribution Center. A registered nurse, artist, and jeweler, Diane came to Minneapolis from Montreal, Canada. She and her husband, Namir, have a lovely home and beautiful garden in Edina and a cat named LuLu. Diane is an excellent Quota role model and exemplifies the spirit behind the title, Volunteer of the Year!
