Excellence in ServiceDisadvantaged Women and Children QI of Baton Rouge
A favorite service project of the Baton Rouge club is creating newborn kits for needy babies at the Earl K. Long Hospital. The project provides approximately 100 newborn discharge kits, each containing a blanket, baby bodysuit, socks, and a small toy. To supplement the project budget, members donated small toys and other items and were pleased to received donations from Wal-Mart and Sam's Club as well. One of the club's members then hosted an assembly party where everyone enjoyed wine and snacks while sorting, packaging, labeling, and tying up the kits. An informal dinner was held afterward to celebrate a job well done!
