The 84th Quota International Convention was held from July
21 to July 24, 2006, in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, and over 450
members and leaders representing ten different Quota countries attended.
This was the organization's second biennial convention held since implementing
the change in Quota International's meeting calendar.
2005-2006 Quota International President Carolyn Rice of
Parkes, New South Wales, Australia, presided over four days of meaningful
Quota discussions, debates, celebrations, fellowship, presentations, and
opportunities for members to broaden their horizons. Convention activities
were held at the Conrad Jupiters Hotel in Gold Coast.
The convention culminated with the installation of Enid Croes-Marugg
of Aruba as Quota International's 2006-2007 president during a ceremony
held the last evening of convention. The festive evening celebrated the
change in Quota International leadership in a moving ceremony led by outgoing
President Carolyn Rice, and incoming President Enid Croes-Marugg unveiled
her theme, "Share Our Sunshine."

I
had a WONDERFUL time at convention. In addition to the business
sessions, I had an opportunity to meet with members of Salisburys
sister club in Australia. I found them to be terrific people, and
I made lasting friends. I, as well as others attending, received
the fruits of the hard work from our headquarters staff. Thanks
so much for your efforts and a job WELL DONE!
Diane
Walter,
Governor, District 10
I just wanted to take a moment to thank you and your staff
for a wonderful convention. As we all know these meetings just don't
happen. Rather they are a result of numerous months of planning,
hard work through great teamwork, commitment and dedication and,
most importantly, fabulous execution. Two first-timers and relatively
new members accompanied me this year
They caught the global
connector feeling/hook (smile), which has served to heightened their
Quota experience.
Laura
Lahman, Governor, District 27
A Big thank you for all that you did to make the
2006 Quota International Convention in Australia the most inspirational
QI Convention I have attended.
Barbara
Landis, Governor, District 33
