November 10, 2004
Dear Fellow Quotarians,
November is a special month as we traditionally give our thanks and count
our blessings; gather with family and friends to share a meal; and start
our holiday season. This year is no different than previous years except
that we have more to be thankful for as we continue to assist those who
need our help in our communities.
Quota is thankful as two new clubs are chartering in two different Quota
countries! Quota International of Legazpi-Mayon, The Philippines, chartered
with 15 members on November 6, 2004, and I would like to congratulate
new club organizer Ma. Corazon A. De Castro, President of QI of Manila
South. Greetings and congratulations can be sent to the club in care of
Charter President Margarita Los Baños at garetlb1@yahoo.com.

I am also pleased to announce that Quota International of Hermitage,
Pennsylvania, U.S.A., will be chartering on December 12, 2004. I will
be the international representative at the club's chartering and will
be visiting with District 6 Quotarians in nearby Ohio at a special brunch
on December 11, 2004. Thanks go to Central Area Director Daryl Perrine
and District 6 Lieutenant Governor Linda Morton for making these arrangements.
Awards,
awards, awards!
Quota International and the We Share Foundation have just won two news
media awards from the MarCom Creative Awards 2004 competition. The Quotarian
magazine received the "gold finalist" award for exceeding the
high standards of the industry, and this Quota Web Site won the "honorable
mention" award. Over 3,300 entries worldwide were submitted, and
I congratulate our staff for these new successes.

Quota
Cares Month
As I travel around to visit our members, I keep hearing that Quota needs
more publicity, and I am asked what are some ideas that I can suggest.
One of the best ideas is to participate in Quota Cares Month in March
2005. Join clubs worldwide in participating in this global public awareness
initiative, as it can truly strengthen your club's membership and provide
publicity for your club. It really does work, and you can read our latest
club success stories in our newest issue of the We Share e-zine
published on our We Share Foundation Web Site. To read the latest stories,

Matching
Grants
Be sure to check if your company has a matching grants program. This is
a marvelous way for your donation dollars to stretch further as your company
matches your donation. One member recently discovered his company had
a matching program, and he was delighted to have his donation doubled.

Area
Meetings Summary
We had three area meetings in October 2004, and they were all very successful.
Thanks go to South Area Director Rosemary Hannie, East Area Director Kelly
Palmer, and West Area Director Toddy Silkman and their teams who made
all this possible. To learn more about the South area meeting, click

2005

We have all the dates for the district conferences, and the international

South
Pacific Area News
South Pacific Area Director June Young arranged for a rose to be placed
in front of the Old Parliament House in Canberra, the Australian Capital,
in the name of Quota International South Pacific Area. The rose garden
will contain 5,000 roses and will be opened on December 4, 2004.
