President’s Message

2004-2005
International President
Nicôl Lea

October 8, 2004

Dear Fellow Quotarians:

Quota's presence continues to expand with new branches worldwide. This month Quota welcomed two more branches—Melbourne Eastern Suburbs Branch of Quota International of Moorabbin, Australia, and Central Florida Branch of Quota International of Plantation, Florida, U.S.A. Our goal is to have 30 branches worldwide by April 2005, and we currently have five. To learn more about all of our new clubs and branches and how you can get involved, click here. I know we can achieve this goal, and I thank everyone who is making this happen!

2004-2005 District Dynamo Contest
This year's District Dynamo contest is off to a roaring start as competition is fierce and keen for clubs to be the leader in their district's membership drive. If your club reports the highest percentage net gain in membership in your district during this 12-month period, you win the top prize awarded at your 2005 district conference: a beautiful engraved silver plate containing sweets. Also, any clubs that have branches that become clubs during this time period will be honored as "co-winners," and they will receive this same prize.

Quota International is grateful to Wanda's Team members for their support of Quota International's 2004-2005 District Dynamo program. Their donations are funding prizes that winning clubs will receive. To learn more about Wanda's Team and its members, click here.

Quota Cares Month
March 2005 is Quota Cares Month and now is the time to begin planning and promoting your club's service project. Join clubs worldwide in participating in this global public awareness initiative, as it can truly strengthen your club's membership through service. This program is a wonderful way to attract new members to your club! We suggest that you plan recruitment, publicity, fund-raising, and fellowship and fun activities as part of your Quota Cares Month project as a way of spreading the word about Quota. It really does work, and you can read our latest club success stories in our new issue of the We Share e-zine, published on our We Share Foundation Web site by clicking here.

QI of Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia (above), and new members of QI of Mountain View/Los Altos, California, U.S.A.(below), are among the Quota Cares Month winners.

Past International President Frances Landry
We were all saddened to learn of the passing of Past International President Frances Landry on September 20, 2004. She was 96, a founder of Quota International of Baton Rouge, and she served as our President from 1942-1944 during World War II. She had a wonderful life as a practicing attorney for over half a century, she was a devoted wife and mother, and she was a leader in the restoration of downtown buildings in her hometown. Frances was a person of many firsts and a great supporter of Quota. We will truly miss her, and we send our condolences to her family and friends. A memorial fund in her name has been set up with the We Share Foundation. If you wish to make a donation to this fund, please click here for more information.

———————

October promises to be fun filled month as we have the opportunity to meet Quotarians from around the world at the Area Meetings. I look forward to meeting new Quotarians and renewing friendships as I travel to these meetings. Take care and continue to do the good work we do in the name of Quota!

With Love,
