President’s Message

Dear Fellow Quotarians,

Last evening I was installed as your international president at a dinner held in conjunction with the July 2005 board meeting in Washington, D.C., U.S.A. An intimate function when compared to installation dinners held at conventions, it was nevertheless a very special occasion and holds memories that I will treasure forever.

Conscious of the changes faced by our organization, I have always felt that nothing is beyond our reach if we reach out together, and so my theme for this year is just that: Reach Out Together.

The calendar change will be a major focus for the year as we conclude the first "full cycle" at Convention 2006 in Gold Coast, Australia. I acknowledge your positive response to date on this new journey we are taking, and I ask members to continue to reflect on the reasons why we began this change. Meeting as many of you as possible at the Area Meetings to be held in the new time frame later this year and sharing the celebration of your achievements will also allow me to understand the challenges you face in your local communities. Quota has a proud heritage, and this year I look forward to continuing to support members within their clubs in upholding the tradition of visionary leadership, which is such a part of our heritage.

I am an ordinary Quotarian experiencing an extraordinary journey, and I thank you for the privilege and honor of serving as your president.
