November 5, 2007 Club Feedback Request on Quota Calendar Change The following letter was sent to club presidents on October 31, 2007:
Dear Quota Club President,
The change in Quota Internationals meeting schedule formally implemented in 2004 is slated for review by the Quota International Board of Directors at its upcoming mid-term meeting, February 1-3, 2008. The board will evaluate whether the advantages that the calendar change proposal had originally projected have in fact been achieved, and they will discuss whether the pros of continuing the calendar outweigh any identified cons. After this discussion the board of directors will vote on whether the calendar change will be continued.

Change Information
One of the major purposes of the calendar change proposal created subsequent to the sharing of task force findings was to reduce the cost of being a member of Quota International by reducing the fees paid by members, clubs, and districts. This was to be accomplished through reducing the number of meetings held, consolidating meetings where possible, and eliminating annual conventions. This plan to reduce costs was strongly endorsed by clubs and districts as well as voting delegates at the 2003 convention. During the first two years following approval and implementation of the calendar change proposal, Quota International income and expenses were reduced by more than the U.S.$117,000 originally estimated to be realized in this two-year period. The major part of this reduction came from eliminating a stand alone annual governors seminar in both Washington, D.C., and Australia; holding governors seminar only in convention years in connection with convention; and eliminating a convention every other year. Reducing these programs saved members, clubs, and districts the registration fees, the advance convention fees, and the travel costs associated with participating in these various meetings. Club and district expense to participate in Quota International activities was reduced by the estimated savings of U.S.$866 per club and U.S.$2,081 per district. However, in many instances, clubs and districts have used this potential savings to institute additional activities and programs to benefit their respective constituencies. In closing, thank you for sharing this request with your fellow club members. Again, Monday, January 21, 2008, is the deadline for submitting your comments to the board of directors, and the board of directors and I look forward to hearing from any club that wishes to share its views. Yours in Quota,
