Hurricane Update and News Alert
Dear Quota Members,
I am writing today with two items of importance:
1. HURRICANE DONATIONS UPDATE
2. QUOTA NEWS ALERT
Will you please share the information in this special edition Quota Quick
Update at your next club meeting and informally with other Quotarians who
do not have Internet access? This communication goes only to those Quota members
who have reported e-mail addresses to us. Not all club leaders have e-mail,
so I thank you for taking the lead in your club with the sharing of this information.

HURRICANE DONATIONS UPDATE
Yesterday I reported to you that Quota International's charitable arm,
the We Share Foundation, is now accepting donations that will support
hands-on hurricane relief efforts sponsored by District 21 clubs. Today,
I am pleased to share the portions of the specific guidelines that District
21 clubs with approved applications will be required to follow.

DISTRICT
21 CLUB DONATION GUIDELINES
- Donations can only be used for District 21 Hurricane Katrina relief
efforts provided by District 21 club members.
- If club members are volunteering for an existing non-profit agency,
program, or organization (non-religious, non-sectarian) providing
hurricane relief services, they are welcome to donate the funds to
that agency, program, or service provided that 100% of all donations
are used for relief services.
- Monies may be used to provide direct services and support for evacuees
in need (helping to purchase food, clothing, transportation, etc.).
- Monies may be used for multiple or a combination of hurricane relief
purposes.
If approved, District 21 clubs will receive donations on an ongoing
basis as donations are received by the We Share Foundation. A minimum
and maximum amount is not known, nor is it guaranteed. All donations
received for Hurricane Katrina relief efforts will be distributed to
District 21 clubs participating in relief efforts.
We ask that all approved and participating District 21 clubs keep us
informed with occasional short reports and photographs. Your periodic
reports and photographs will help us with raising more donations for
your critical work, so please know that we appreciate them very much.
We will share your photographs and stories on our web site and in our
2006 Quotarian magazine. Also, when this program ends,
we will need a short financial report on how all donations were spent
signed by the club president and treasurer.

QUOTA NEWS ALERT
In an effort to keep all members fully informed, we have just published
on Quota International's Web Site (www.quota.org) all of the annual reports
that are traditionally produced in Quota's convention notebook.
I invite you to visit this site and to view the reports from Quota's 2004-2005
year and to celebrate the many accomplishments that the members of Quota and
the organization as a whole have achieved. You may also wish to print some
or all of the reports so that you can share them with your fellow club members
as well as reporting where members can find this publication on-line.
You will note that several lists of club award winners are included in the
reports, and if you look you might find your club's name on one of those lists!
We are celebrating the success of our clubs in the areas of membership recruitment
and retention, fund-raising, and service. Please do check to see if your club
is listed.
We have also published photographs of a celebration honoring outgoing 2004-2005
President Nicôl Lea and the installation of incoming 2005-2006 President
Carolyn Rice.
Sincerely,
Kathleen Treiber
