East Area Director Candidate Withdraws from Election

Candidate Faith Keaveney, Past Governor of District 5 and member of QI of Waterbury, Connecticut, regrets to announce her withdrawal from the East Area Director election due to health reasons. Kelly Palmer, Past Governor of District 1 and member of QI of Morgantown, West Virginia, remains as the sole candidate for this position. Following the procedures of other board of director elections with only one candidate, the election for East Area Director will be canceled and the remaining nominee, Kelly Palmer, will be declared the winner at Convention 2003. Absentee ballots previously mailed to East Area voting delegates will no longer be needed and can be disposed of. East Area voting delegates in good standing who attend Convention 2003 will be permitted to vote in the 2003 Bylaws Session.

Candidates who will be declared winners at Convention 2003 include:

  • Nicôl Lea, QI of Cupertino, California, U.S.A., 2003-2004 President-elect
  • Carolyn Rice, QI of Parkes, New South Wales, Australia, 2003-2004 Treasurer
  • Daryl Perrine, QI of Wooster, Ohio, U.S.A., 2003-2005 Central Area Director
  • Kelly Palmer, QI of Morgantown, West Virginia, U.S.A., 2003-2005 East Area Director

A mail ballot election is currently being held for the position of 2003-2005 South Pacific Area Director. Candidates include Jacque Kendall, QI of Takapuna, New Zealand, and June Young, QI of Liverpool, New South Wales, Australia. All mail ballots must be received on or before May 19 at the Quota International Office in Australia. Mail ballots received after that date will be disqualified.

All declared and elected winners will serve on the 2003-2004 Board of Directors headed by 2003-2004 President Mary Cotter, currently Quota International's 2002-2003 President-elect. Installation will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at 6:30 p.m. in New Orleans, Louisiana. For more details about Convention 2003, please click here.
