R9 – Carol Patin
Quota International of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA (District 21)
What are your qualifications for the position of Quota Regional Director?
The Regional director should have leadership experience. I served as Club President in 2012 and am presently Lieutenant Governor of District 21. The director should also have an understanding of the organization’s needs specifically for growth and development. Prior to becoming club president, I served as membership chair, overseeing the initiation of 12 new members. Our year was so
successful that President Laura requested that I speak at the international convention in Hawaii on Membership: Recruitment and Retention. Since then, I have been asked to speak on membership at all levels as well as, send written literature to many clubs.
What are your goals for your specific region?
Region 9 is composed of 16 clubs with 403 members. The collective achievements include increased community awareness of the deaf population, helped women transition back to society, and created the national newborn hearing screening program. But the need is ever-growing. My ultimate goal is to “Secure Quota’s Future” by accomplishing the following: reiterating our commitment to Quota’s core values including increasing projects that help those we serve, creating awareness with active service by improving club to club communication plus increase the communities’ awareness of what we do and promoting membership growth by aggressively recruiting new members and starting new clubs.
What do you do outside of Quota?
I am a practicing Obstetrician and Gynecologist and am the top admitter for my service. I have been married for 28 years and am the mother of three young adults. Service has been a part of my life as long as I can remember starting with my serving as big sister in the Big Brother/Big Sister program. I am also a member of several service organizations including YMCA, Rotary International as well as Delta Sigma Theta Service Sorority. Personally, I enjoy participating in my book club, collect sports memorabilia and have an interest in genealogy.
What else would you like to share with the members of your region?
I think Quota has enriched my life as well as my community. Quota has done this since 1919 and my goal is ensure that Quota will continue positively impacting members and communities around the world in the future. I think it will take innovation, dedication and people working together. If elected to this office I will give my talents and time to activating this process.
