West Area Director
Pattie Mhoon

HOME CLUB:
Quota International of Tacoma

WA, United States

Patti's vision for Quota is one that she shares with many Quotarians—to increase membership and retain those members once recruited. New members continue to join our great organization and new clubs are being chartered, which is heartwarming to all of us, but Pattie believes that our most important goal at this time should be to develop new and effective strategies for the retention of our members. There is strength in numbers, and the more members we have, the stronger we become and the more people we help. Working together, Pattie believes this vision can be a reality.

As a ten-year Quotarian, Pattie has served as District 14 governor and club president and has chaired several committees and actively participated in her club's service projects. At the international level, Pattie presented an oral report of Tacoma's award-winning community service project at the Calgary Convention in 2000; served on an International Structure Task Force in 2007; and chaired the 2007-2008 International Bylaws Committee.

In 2005, Pattie retired from her law practice. Before becoming a lawyer in her late forties, she worked in business administration, executive management, and finance at home in
Washington State and abroad in Switzerland, West Africa, Belgium, and Singapore.

Currently Pattie volunteers with the Olympia Presbytery, Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). In 2003, the Girl Scouts of America honored her as a Woman of Distinction. In 1998, the
People to People organization chose Pattie as one of eight U.S. attorneys to travel to South Africa to advise and assist South African law schools.
