South Area Director
Gwenn Jackson

HOME CLUB:
Quota International of Monroe

LA, United States

Gwenn Jackson believes Quota International is recognized within its communities for the local service provided by the organization's membership. Clubs devote their energies, time, and resources to worthy projects that reflect individual community needs. Gwenn says that membership is strengthened by meeting these needs and finding new and meaningful ways to provide service. In her vision for Quota's future, Gwenn believes Quota's identity as an international organization will grow as clubs respond to needs beyond our communities and the borders of member nations. The welcome opportunity to share resources allows members to have an impact on needs around the globe at a local level. The growth and support of World Service projects give meaning to the benefit of international sharing. The organization's response to the needs of the devastated Gulf Coast regions of Mississippi and Texas exemplifies the impact members collectively have in any community when they decide to serve. Gwenn believes that these are our opportunities to serve communities around the world, develop friendships, and share the value of membership with others.

Gwenn joined Quota International of Monroe in1989. She took the position of club president in 2001-2002. She served as chair of "Kids Expo" (recipient of Excellence Award in Fund-raising 2002). In addition, she has served as membership chair from 1995-1998; secretary/treasurer of District 21 from 2000-2001; lieutenant governor of District 21; governor of District 21 from 2004-2005; a member of the International Convention Credentials Committee; and a member of the International World Service Committee in 2005.

Gwenn is a board certified Fellow, American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Since 1990, she has been a partner in the Women's Clinic of Monroe, an 11-member group medical practice in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. Gwenn served as chief of staff at Glenwood Regional Medical Center, 2000-2001, and currently is treasurer for Ouachita Parish Medical Society. Gwenn is also a member of the First Baptist Church of West Monroe, Louisiana, Orchestra; and served the Medical Missions Team in Cambodia, October 2005.
