Toddy Silkman's vision is that Quota remain a strong, unified international organization that will stand the test of time, one that will continue to grow and move forward. As president-elect and chairman of Development and Growth in 2007-2008, Toddy will continue her commitment to stimulate the development of plans for membership growth and retention. She believes that retaining members is one of our greatest challenges today and encourages every Quotarian to work diligently to maintain their club's current membership as well as to recruit new members. Toddy says, "if new membership events have been unsuccessful in the past, work together to create innovative ideas to attract new members; focus on becoming a '+1' club." A 22-year member of Quota International, Toddy served as District 14 governor from 1992 to 1993 and as West Area director from 1994 to 1996. In addition, she has chartered two clubs: Kent Valley (in 1991)her home cluband Columbia City (in 1996). Toddy's very rewarding 32-year career in the aerospace industry allowed her to use her statistical, financial, organizational, management, and people skills. While with Boeing, Toddy served on the United Way leadership group, was a past officer of the Boeing Employees Golf Association, and served in numerous officer positions in BEGA golf leagues. Shortly after retiring from the Boeing Company, where she received numerous Pride in Excellence awards, Toddy opened a gift shop in Kent at a time when the economy was on the decline. Using the skills she sharpened at Boeing, her business became very successful. She has two children, son Shannon and daughter Brandie. |
