Noelene
Phillips
District 26
Quota International of Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia
1. How long have you been a member of Quota International?
22 years
2. Why did you join Quota International?
First, because I was invited to do so. Second, to make a difference in
the lives of those in need in the local community.
3. What has been your most meaningful Quota experience?
There are far too many to mention. The most recent is recognition as an
outstanding volunteer during Senior's Week
4. What are your goals for your year as governor?
I have two very important goals. First, to sort out and rewrite the district
bylaws, which at the moment are in a dire state of disarray. The second
is to change many people's perception that Quota is predominantly an organization
for mature retired ladies. If Quota is to survive, we must put more emphasis
on encouraging younger, vibrant, and enthusiastic professional women as
well as our experienced more mature members. We must make Quota more visible
by using all manner of publicity.
5. What are your activities and interests outside of Quota?
There are two very prominent events held in Bathurst annually: the Bathurst
Eisteddfod (16 days) and the V8 Race at Mt. Panorama. I coordinate volunteers
who cater to visitors who come to Bathurst for these two events. I also
enjoy golf, reading, craft, traveling, cooking, tennis, live theater,
and entertaining.
