How long have you been a member of Quota International?
11 years
Why did you join Quota International?
My mom is a charter member of our club, so I literally grew up with Quota.
I was always able to help, but I wanted to become an official part of
such a wonderful club.
What has been your most meaningful Quota experience?
This year for Quota Cares Month our club decorated cakes to be delivered
to Meals on Wheels. We had so much fun decorating them and had this story
stopped there, it still would have been a meaningful experience, but it
goes on. The next day the cakes were delivered and my phone started ringing.
I received a dozen calls from appreciative senior citizens thanking us
for our thoughtfulness. Suddenly I realized what Quota really is and what
we are here to accomplish.
What are your goals for your year as governor?
I am not concentrating on gaining members (gasp!). I am encouraging the
clubs to concentrate on the members that we have and in making each meeting
fun and enjoyable. By nurturing the current membership and having fun,
others will want to join.
What are your activities and interests outside of Quota?
There is life outside of Quota? Seriously, my calling in life is to homeschool
our now 6-year-old son, Jesse. I also help my husband with the running
of our construction business, and we are very active in our church. On
the rare occasion that I get some free time, I enjoy quilting, cross stitching,
word finds, and sudokus.
