How We Operate

Quota International links members of all ages, occupations, and nationalities in a worldwide network of service and friendship. Organized in 1919 as the first international women's service organization, Quota's membership today includes men as well as women in clubs in North America, South America, the South Pacific, Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Caribbean.

Governance
The organization is governed by a 9-member board of directors. Quota's international bylaws and rules of procedure*, which were first established in 1919, are amended annually.

Shared Values
With a motto of "We Share," Quotarians are known especially for their service to deaf, hard-of-hearing, and speech-impaired individuals and disadvantaged women and children. Serving others, developing friendships, and promoting international understanding are values shared by members. To view the Quota Collect, click here. To view Quota's mission statement, click here.

Staff
Quota International's operations and programs are administered by a staff team located in Washington, D.C. A satellite office is located in Margate, Australia. To find out how you can contact Quota or to view our staff list, click here.

Structure
Quota International is composed of two legal entities: Quota International, Inc., and the We Share Foundation.

Quota International, Inc., promotes and extends Quota's presence throughout the world and coordinates the activities of its individual members, clubs, and leaders. It falls under Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. tax code. The organization has operated clubs since its founding in 1919. Districts were added in 1933, and areas were added in 1972.

Quota International, Inc., is funded primarily through member dues. The Quota International, Inc., Wanda Frey Joiner Development Fund, funded solely by donations received from members and clubs, finances Quota International's development and growth activities and programs including the Leaders as Listeners strategic initiative.

The We Share Foundation helps Quota members fulfill their commitment to international service, linking members across Quota's 14-country network to help those in need worldwide. The mission of the fund is to assist deaf, hard-of-hearing, and speech-impaired individuals and disadvantaged women and children. It falls under section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. tax code. The We Share Foundation is funded primarily through donations from members and clubs.
