Marie Dobson-Dunlop enjoys serving alongside Quota members dedicated to making a difference. She believes this can be done by individuals rooted in developing a mentorship program for retention, supported by fellowship and friendship.
Marie joined Quota in January 1992 and has held all positions at the club level; in addition, she started a club mentoring program. She served as lieutenant governor from 2000 to 2002 and governor from 2002 to 2004, at the time that Quota changed the organization’s calendar year and moved from annual convention to biennial conventions. Marie co-chaired the Volunteer Committee at Convention 2004 in Toronto and was a member of the International Disadvantaged Women and Children Committee.
Marie has a college certificate in business administration. She owned and operated an accounting and tax preparation business from 1985 to 2005. Currently Marie is the branch manager of the financial services business she and her husband Tim Dunlop co-own and have run for the past 20 years. Marie has supervised a staff of 12 while running three different types of businesses at one time.
Marie has a wonderful blended family with her husband Tim Dunlop. She has three sons and one daughter, along with 2 grandchildren, Logan who is 11 years old and Kamryn who is 8 years old. Marie is a board member of the Midland Unit of the Boys and Girls Club of North Simcoe; Y’s Men’s Music Festival; the North Simcoe Fundraisers Networkers; and the Christian Community Breakfast Committee. She is also a Eucharist minister, a lector, and on the Finance Committee at her church. She enjoys reading and golf. Marie is the 2010 recipient of the local Business Women’s Award for Heart and Soul of the Community.
