Kathleen Sherman believes that Quota continues to be and can become an ever greater partner in providing service in local communities and around the world.
As a 35-year member, Kathleen has served as president of her local club several times. At the district level, she has served as lieutenant governor and district governor. She has been active in club fund-raising, service, and membership recruitment. As an example of her fund-raising ability, Kathleen has coordinated QI of Charleston’s annual Poinsettia Sale, netting her club over $5,000.
Kathleen has a Masters of Social Work degree. She retired from a 41-year social services career, which included serving as social workers’ supervisor at Charleston Area Medical Center. At CAMC, she received the “You Make a Difference Award” and a “Certificate of Meritorious Performance.” Kathleen was on the faculty as a social work professor at Concord University. Additionally, she served as adjunct professor at West Virginia State University, Graduate School of Social Work, and West Virginia South School of Ministries.
Kathleen is an active member of her church. She currently serves as a board member, treasurer, and Sunday school teacher. Previously, she has volunteered for United Way (also was “loaned executive” one year) and AAA Resource Center. Her hobbies include gardening, home improvement, and dogs.
