Our Quota Cares Month project
For the Quota Cares Month Project, members created Easter Baskets to be distributed to disadvantaged children and adolescents . . . most of which are medically fragile. Members contributed baskets, grass, cellophane wrap, bows, candy, small gifts for the children, and small toiletries for the adolescents. As a result, Quota International of Southeast Texas was able to provide 60 baskets for distribution. The benefit to the families was that the Easter observance by the recipients was brightened by the gift of beautifully wrapped Easter baskets filled with candy and gifts. The financial situation of the families would have prohibited them from enjoying this holiday treat. Quota members brought smiles to the faces of recipients. These baskets were distributed by the staff of a pediatric home health agency that provides complex care to its young patients. Three of our members are on staff, one of which is the owner.

How did our QCM project benefit our community?
The project brought awareness of the club in the community through the families of the recipients. The project was featured on Facebook with pictures. Pictures with explanation were distributed to local newspapers.

How did our QCM project benefit our club / members?
This project was a great benefit to the club’s goal of planning more hands-on projects. In addition to donations from club funds for community needs, during the last several years, members have expressed interest in being more directly involved in responding to the requests that come to the club’s attention. The Easter Basket Project allows involvement by all members – the three members who are affiliated with the agency coordinated the identification of recipients, the distribution of baskets and provided the work station. All supplies were provided by the members, not from club funds. One member has a talent for making bows. A work day was scheduled and a group of the members gathered to assemble the baskets. The morale of our club is good, but this particular project warms the hearts of all our members.
