Quota International of Indiana, PA, Indiana, PA, USA
Our Quota Cares Month project
Our project was an indoor golf tournament fundraiser that we have done each year for the past 8 years. Teams of four play nine holes of indoor miniature golf on courses in restaurants/bars in downtown Indiana. We ask businesses and individuals in the area to support the event by sponsoring a courses, sponsoring a team, or a tee sign. The funds that are generated from the sponsorships are then funneled back into the community for our various disadvantaged women and children programs, our speech & hearing programs and many other programs of community interest that are brought to our attention throughout the year.
How did our QCM project benefit our community?
Our club attracted between 300-400 people for this event, many of whom were not aware of Quota prior to the event. It is a great way for us to introduce the community to who we are and what we do. We also require more volunteers for the event than we currently have in membership, so this has been a great way to introduce new people to the club. We normally retain 1-2 volunteers as new members from the event.
How did our QCM project benefit our club / members?
Our project this year greatly improved morale in that we were able to raise over $20,000. All members contribute in some way, even those that are not able to be at the actual event participate in some way. For the months leading up to the event, all members provide information to community members who are interested and generate new teams and sponsors for the year. Most members volunteer the night of the event and some members also bring a buddy to volunteer with them that is not a club member.
