Our Quota Cares Month project
Quota International of Mandaue embarked on a long range project for Quota Cares month that entailed a tedious preparation, months and months of daily chores for the club members. The project “ERADICATE MALNUTRITION THROUGH SUPPLEMENTATION” is the first pilot test on 100 school children from the Mandaue City Central Integrated Sped School. These children have special needs (hearing impaired, visually disabled , mentally challenged ) and were extremely malnourished. Our program started last July 2012 in line with the Nutrition Month. A one (1) month daily feeding of nutritious home coked lunch with free juice drinks (rice & vegetable with choice of pork, beef, chicken & fish ) prepared by the members. To continue the program, on August 28, 2012 we kick start the milk feeding, and up to 5th of March 2013, these 100 children were served with packed 350ml Fresh milk fortified with vitamins DAILY. To ensure compliance, our members alternately come to school every day to personally deliver and feed the children. Every month these children were measured in height, BMI, and weight. To fund this project, QI Mandaue put up an Auction Sale fund raising project last Sept. 28, 2012 which generated about 300,000 pesos. On culmination first week of March 2013, all participants were treated to a sumptuous lunch and again measured for the last time. The…

How did our QCM project benefit our community?
During the 7 months period, we have been promoting the name of Quota everyday not only to the teachers and parents of the 100 children, but also to the other parents of the rest of the school population of more than 300. We also showed them how a club with happy members work hand in hand to help in this project to ensure its success. We have also distributed leaflets about Quota. There were interested inquiries, though as of this time there were no new members signing in. But we know for a fact that our efforts as members of Quota International were very much appreciated. It will be instilled in their heart how Quota has reached out to the needy. And so, we would like to believe that the 7 months of DAILY activity on this project, we would like to compare our club’s effort in promoting community awareness maybe at par with the other top Quota clubs in the world who have dedicated themselves in promoting QUOTA …..

How did our QCM project benefit our club / members?
About 90% of our club members were involved to carry out our mission. Morale was high. Every morning, members alternately give out their share of time to work 3 hours or more by getting the milk from the factory, still fresh from production, and delivering it to school. In school they have to feed the 100 children that lasted almost 3 hours. The sacrifices made by all who participated is worth more than money can buy. This project had taught us all about UNITY and Caring for the needy. This project has earned our club a billion thanks from the people concerned who directly benefited from this program such as the children, and those indirectly such as the parents, teachers, relatives, and neighbors.
