Quota International of Monroe, Louisiana, USA
Our Quota Cares Month project
Quota International of Monroe chose for our Quota Cares Project to participate in the Family Promise Fundraising Project, Oodles of Noodles. Family Promise raises money to house, and assists homeless families to get back on their feet, a job, and in a home while keeping the family unit intact. Children are allowed to stay with their family and attend their school as usual. There are churches in the area that help provide food and shelter for a limited time. Counseling is also provided to help individuals cope with their situation. To qualify they must be a family unit, and there is strict criteria in order to be chosen to be in the program.
How did our QCM project benefit our community?
Quota of Monroe chose to participate in the fundraising competition because Family Promise is the On-Site Service for District 21 that will be held in Monroe May 31 through June 2. Those participating in the project were Vickie Barnes, Sharon Gebhardt, Jo Hale and Brenda Taylor. This allowed great exposure for our club with twenty vendors and several hundred people attending. Celebrities from our community judged each dish. People kept coming back to taste the great pasta pudding made by the Fearless Q’s.
How did our QCM project benefit our club / members?
During this competition we each wore our Quota shirts and our banner was proudly displayed for all to see. We were able to answer the big question “who is Quota and what do you do?” We publicized our up-coming fundraiser, Chocolate and Wine Under the Stars at event.
