March 12, 2013
My Fellow Quotarians,
I am pleased to announce that Barbara J. Schreiber has accepted our offer of employment as Executive Director of Quota International, Inc., to replace Kathleen Treiber, who is retiring April 30, 2013.
I wish to thank the Search Committee, consisting of President-elect Karen Murphy, East Area Director Michelle Fryling, and Past International President Chris Tracey-Patte for their dedication throughout the process. Their efforts are to be commended and this organization that they support so tirelessly is most grateful.
Barbara will work with Executive Director Kathleen from April 22 – 26, 2013, at Quota International headquarters to transition the office to Barbara’s management. I would like to thank Kathleen in advance for all her hard work, leadership, and support during the upcoming transition. I know we all wish Kathleen and her husband Randy the best in their retirement and future endeavors.
Barbara comes to Quota International with nearly 20 years of experience serving as a non-profit executive. Most recently, Barbara was Executive Director of Starlight Children’s Foundation MidAtlantic Chapter. As a volunteer herself, Barbara understands what is required to be a committed volunteer. Barbara has served as a volunteer board member and committee member, serving in areas including financial, development, programs, nominations, and bylaws. Barbara is a member of numerous professional associations including the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). Dedicated to making the world a better place, Barbara will utilize her amazing energy, vast experience, communications expertise, and focused leadership skills to move Quota forward. Barbara’s domain expertise as a strategic thinker will help brand our organization by creating an interest in our mission so that Quota will realize membership growth and attract partnerships, sponsorships, and grant opportunities. Barbara’s management style is to listen, learn, and lead. Like all of us, Barbara is excited to share in the unique opportunity of celebrating Quota’s 100th anniversary in 2019!
Barbara loves to travel and a few years ago visited Australia and New Zealand. She enjoys spending time with her family and rescued pet—including a big dog who thinks she’s a cat and fluffy cats that are pretty certain they are dogs! She also enjoys taking long walks, curling up with a good book, crocheting rag rugs, spending time at the beach, and rooting for her beloved Baltimore, Maryland, U.S.A. sports teams, the Ravens and Orioles.
Please join me in welcoming Barbara to Quota and supporting her during these exciting times as we continue FORWARD and onward.
With kindest regards,
2012-2013 International President
