Cindy joined QI of Canton just a few years ago with so much enthusiasm and compassion! This isn’t surprising since Cindy’s whole life has been spent helping other people and making long-lasting friendships. Cindy has an older sister, 2 younger sisters and one daughter, Angie, who is engaged to be married this summer! She has worked for Frito Lay for nearly 20 years and is a member of The Chapel in North Canton.

If you visit Cindy’s home, you will always find a book or two on her coffee table because she loves to read. Cindy enjoys making beautiful beaded jewelry and giving it as gifts to her friends and family. In her spare time, she LOVES to visit her best friend…. Macys! Cindy knows how to throw a great party! She pays attention to every detail, the good glassware, tableware, decorations to match the occasion or season, music, favors, etc.! She loves to feed you until you can’t move….all to make sure everyone there has a memorable time!

One of Cindy’s main philosophies in life is to give to those less fortunate. Whether it’s volunteering her time, cleaning out a closet for Goodwill or saying a prayer for someone, Cindy is such a giving and considerate person and puts the needs of others before her own. When Cindy was a young woman, she was very active in her church youth group. Then after she got married, she and her husband served as the youth group leaders for quite some time.

When she joined Quota, Cindy jumped in with both feet right away. She immediately got involved in all of our projects with great ideas, going out and getting donations for our fundraisers, and making it a point to get to know as many of the Quotarians as she could. Last year, one of our Quota sisters was in a serious car accident and was in and out of the hospital for an extended period of time along with requiring rehab. Her husband was ill and needed hip surgery. So Cindy took it upon herself to organize a two month meal drive for them. This year, Cindy is co-chairing our Spring Style Show, which is one of our two biggest fundraisers so this is quite an undertaking and she is doing a fantastic job!

We are so grateful to have Cindy in our club and we think Cindy Malcuit is a model Quotarian. Her volunteer spirit is what makes her our 2013 Volunteer of the Year!
