Quota International of Peterborough
Gladys Rice, member of Quota International of Peterborough, is celebrating her 100th birthday, March 30th, 2013. Gladys joined Quota at the tender age of ninety and remains an active member. We love to call her our official apple polisher as whenever we have box lunches, Gladys gathers her polishing clothes and polishes all the apples for the lunches. She also enjoys a good euchre tournament and we can always find her and her partner giving other players a run for their money. Gladys loves to attend district conferences and conventions, although the out of country conventions are now limited as it is becoming very difficult to get health insurance for her. Gladys loves her Quotarian sisters and has found a new purpose in Quota. Should anyone ask her why she joined Quota; she would say she needed another channel for giving back to her community. Should anyone ask why she stays; I think it is primarily for the social life and giving back to the community. Any of Gladys Quotarian family wishing to send Gladys birthday greetings may do so through her daughter Leah Thomson’s e-mail. If you wish to remember with a gift to Helene MacKenzie or Hand in Hand would be gratefully appreciated.
