Quota of Traverse City, Michigan, USA
Quota International of Traverse City, Michigan is proud to nominate our Quotarian Joyce Schaub, as Volunteer of the Year 2013.
Joyce is married to her sweetheart, Leonard Schaub. She works part time for Scuba North as their bookkeeper. Joyce’s sister Carol Stevens, has held the office of District 20 Governor, her daughter, Laura Herman has been our treasurer for many years, and her sister in-law Deb Cummins recently rejoined our club, so you might say Quota runs in her family. Joyce joined Quota in 1999, and has thirteen years in Quota as an outstanding member. Our Spring Flower Sales and Fall Poinsettia Sales have been great fund raisers with her at the “Garden Gate” helm, as chairperson. Her organization skills and dedication to follow through with delivery of the last blossom have earned her accolades of praise from sister members. Joyce was chosen by her fellow club members as Traverse City’s Quotarian of the Year for the 2006-2007. In 2010 and 2011 our club initiated Festival of Cakes, a new fundraiser benefitting two of our foundation projects, Traverse City Area Public Schools STEP (Students in Transition Empowerment Program) and the Munson Women’s Cancer Fund. Joyce has served on the committee and helped with ticket sales both years. She has also helped with our Attic Art Sale, Holiday Cookie Sale, Parade of Homes, Membership Tea, Mother Daughter Dinner, and has hosted our end-of-year party for our club in her home for the past several years. The list of Joyce’s service to our club over the past thirteen years goes on and on. Joyce may be small in stature, but her heart is huge with the Quota spirit. She always has a smile and a cheerful greeting to all. She always has a quiet word of support for all who are in need. Our member, Joyce Schaub is a role model and inspiration to others through her spirit of Quota caring and diligent actions. We nominate Joyce Schaub for Volunteer of the Year 2013.
