When Connie Robinson joined QI of East Memphis in May 2009 she ”hit the ground running” and hasn’t slowed down since. She actively participated on any committee where she was assigned and volunteered for many others. She has served as the chair of our Speech and Hearing Committee, Ways and Means Committee, Harvest Festival Fundraiser, and Theater Fundraiser. She lead our ”It’s a Deaf, Deaf World” community education project to enhance the city’s understanding of Deaf Culture, communication needs and capabilities. She has displayed excellent organizational skills and has worked tirelessly for our club.
In addition, Connie serves as treasurer for the Memphis Chapter of the Association for the Deaf, works as an manager for the interpreting section of the Deaf Family Literacy Academy, and serves as a member of the Germantown, TN. Chamber of Commerce. She is a member of Tennessee Hands and Voices, a state-wide organization focusing on deaf and hard of hearing children.
Connie is a Vote TN volunteer from the Disability Law and Advocacy Center of Tennessee to help educate the Deaf community regarding voting. She has written a number of articles for many deaf advocacy publications.
She is a trained hearing loss support specialist for the Hearing Loss Association of America and councils parents of newly identified deaf infants and young children.
