The Volunteer of the year award is presented to one member of our club who embodies the true spirit of volunteerism not only within our club but equally important in our community, symbolizing everything for which Quota Stands.
A member of Quota International of Iosco County since 2007,our volunteer of the year exemplifies these qualities. The following list is some of the many acts of volunteering our member has accomplished within our community. Wedding assistant and liturgical reader at her church, 4-H resource leader an helped promote the millage to keep 4-H in this county, organized Perchville (a three day winter festival on the ice of Lake Huron to promote tourism, Memorial Day and Labor Day Art shows, Tawas Area 4th of July parade. Arranged breakfast for the past three years to raise money for the local Boy Scout District. Helped to organize the new event of Power Races in the Tawas Area. Coordinated snacks and volunteers for the Art Prize at Tawas Village. Passed out ear plugs at Hunter Safety in Harrisville and at the Tawas Power Boat Races. Volunteering countless hours day and night to the Tawas Area Chamber of Commerce. Then we move on to her volunteering for Quota International of Iosco County. Some of those contributions are, chairing our fund raising Halloween Dance for 2012, co-chairing the 2013 Trivia night fund raising event, attending Quota Conferences,instigated a new idea for a membership drive, has volunteered for almost every Quota event and has served on many Iosco County Quota committees. She has been 2nd vice chair and 1st vice chair and currently serving her second term as president. Most of this accurred while she worked full time.
