Quota International of Cambridge, Maryland, USA
Tasha Foxwell joined Quota International of Cambridge, Inc. in 2008. She has served in many ways and continues to share her great ideas and dedication of behalf of our Quota club. Tasha is a young lady of distinction and works very hard to be a valuable part of the team. She has served as a one-year Board Member, a two-year Board Member and is now serving another term as a two-year Board Member. Since she joined Quota, she has been an extremely supportive and active member.
Quota International of Cambridge, Inc. sponsored the first Choptank Trot. This was Tasha’s idea: Tasha’s idea for the race Choptank Trot for Melanoma was a result of her interest in melanoma prevention and treatment. Since Tasha was diagnosed and treated for melanoma, this is a very important cause for her. Participation was high in this first-time event for Quota as a sponsor here in Cambridge. Survivors and people who lost their lives to this devastating cancer were honored at the event. The race was conducted along the banks of the beautiful Choptank River (hence the name), and began in the Great Marsh Park, a city park and boat launch area. Our Cambridge Mayor, Victoria Jackson-Stanley, and several other community leaders participated. There were children, dogs, strollers – all were welcome.
The Ways and Means Team who led us in the Girls Night Out fundraisers and the Derby Day fundraiser also included Tasha’s efforts. Vendors selling items such as pocketbooks, scarves, jewelry, perfumes, kitchen items, wines, and many more wonderful things were on hand as our Quota members encouraged our guests to have fun and purchase from the vendors.
Tasha works at InterCoastal Trading in Cambridge. Her business was an active sponsor of the Choptank Trot.
Our club is pleased to honor Tasha’s service by awarding her the distinction of Volunteer of the Year for 2012. We look forward to working with Tasha on more efforts to help our community through Quota’s missions.
