Chanda is a 12 year-old girl studying at Quota DLFs Project Shiksha. A few months ago during a health check-up camp for Project Shiksha children we discovered that she had a hole in her heart. On discussing the problem with her parents, we found out that the parents were aware of this problem and wanted to get her surgery done but due to lack of finances had ignored the problem. Her father works as a driver who earns about USD 150 per month and the mother is a housewife. She has a younger brother as well. Quota volunteers took up her cause, got her check-ups done, and raised funds for her surgery, which was done successfully this month on 11th of October. She is recovering well and was overjoyed to get a hamper of fruits, biscuits and juices from the Quota volunteers who visited her at her shanty recently. Once again Quota demonstrated that it CARES.
